General Education Requirements

General education course requirements are designed to provide exposure to a variety of non-technical areas of learning. These courses (informally known as Gen Eds) must be chosen to satisfy both the general education requirements of the university and the criteria established by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Several sets of requirements are potentially applicable depending on when (year) and how (transfer or freshman) a student entered UB. These requirements are summarized here. For more information, contact the UB Engineering Office of Undergraduate Education.
